THE SALVATION ARMY

The Salvation Army, founded in London in 1865 by William and Catherine Booth is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. 
Nearly 31 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children.
The Salvation Army serves those in need regardless of race, creed or cultural background
Day in and day out, The Salvation Army continues to provide critical life services and guiidance, operating in more than 112 countries, 9,000 communities and 14,000 centers.
Over 88 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to The Salvation Army services and programs.
LOCALLY....Tucson's Salvation Army has been serving the community since 1893.

*We operate four Corps Community Centers, as well as the Hospitality House shelter,  programs, pecial events and         church services.

*The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) and Thrift Stores provide additional services in the          community.
*The Salvation Army serves more than a quarter of a million meals annually.

*Hundreds of children are served daily through The Salvation Army's Corps Community Center's after-school                   activities, hot meals and safe, nurturing and educational environments..

*For every dollar donated to The Tucson Salvation Army, 88% goes directly into local programs and services.
