The S.A.F.E. (Salvation Army Family Extended) Housing Program began operation in 1987 to address the needs of families and individuals facing unemployment and homelessness. The program works to help provide a solid base of support by providing housing, intensive case management and supportive services such as food, clothing, household and personal hygiene items. The program's goal is to enable clients to leave the program with full-time, permanent employment, a savings account, and be free of government assistance. During the maximum six-month enrollment period S.A.F.E. Housing incorporates varied training programs to help transition people from homelessness and despair to self-sufficency.
These include *
