The Salvation Army Hospitality House is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing emergency shelter for those in need. The facility, located near downtown Tucson, features a 91 bed facility with separate accommodations for men and women, while motel vouchers may be available to assist housing families with special needs. In addition to safe, clean lodging, the facility features a laundry, showers, playground, television, dining and activity areas. Guests receive two meals per day and access to vital programs and services.
Programs are targeted to emergency housing needs, as well as options for both short term- 7-day emergency shelter & long term-
4-month transitional assistance.

While staying at The Hospitality House, guests may also participate in scheduled activities such as support groups and living skills workshops, Bible Study and Sunday worship services. During stressful times of the year and in response to crises, The Hospitaity House will also engage additional outreach and assistance programs for the homeless, including coat & blanket distribution, emergency shelter during temperature & weather extremes, water distribution and toiletries and sun relief items.
Annually, The Salvation Army provides over 50,000 meals and helps at least 23,000 people.
The program is funded through public donations, government grants and United Way.
COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
As part of the Tucson Planning Council's Emergency Services Committee, The Salvation Army participates in a multitude of services and programs:
THE WINTER SHELTERS PROGRAM-
November 15- March 31.
These 3 programs provide intensified services for homeless people seeking to change their lives and transition back into society.
1- OPERATION DEEP FREEZE: (Nov. 15 - Mar. 31, weather driven) During the coldest nights of the year - When temperatures drop beneath 35 degrees or 40 degrees with precipitation, The Salvation Army Hospitality House will open its doors to anyone needing respite from the cold. Beginning at 3pm, people needing shelter can enter The Hospitality House, receive toiletries, a shower and hot meal before being assigned emergency lodging. The Salvation Army's South Corps operates as the main overflow shelter, with Temple Corps called into use when numbers are warranted.
The Salvation Army/Naughton's Annual Coat & Blanket Drive helps provide some of the needed warm blankets and outerwear used during this program.
2- PROJECT HOSPITALITY: (Nov. 28 - Feb. 28)
The Salvation Army coordinates with 35+ other religous congregations throughout Tucson to take in a certain number of homeless individuals at night. Guests of this program all receive case management.
3- ONE STEP BEYOND: ( Dec. 1 - Feb. 28)
This program is an intensified case management program that helps a homeless individual to maintain employment and permanent housing.
Other Assistance Programs- These are year-round programs that address community and homeless needs and include:
OPERATION CHILL-OUT (Summer Months) Partnership between The Salvation Army & Naughton's to collect water, sunscreen, lip balm and visors for the homeless and those in need during the summer months.
EMERGENCY FOOD BOXES (Sat. & Sun 12:30pm-3pm)
"SUMMER SUN" PROGRAM & WATER OUTREACH"
When temperatures exceed 105 degrees, The Tucson Planning Council 
for the Homeless' Emergency Services Committee with The Salvation Army delivers water and needed supplies to the homeless at neighborhood parks: Santa Rita and Deanza Park.

COLLECTION DRIVES;
The Coat & Blanket Drive: From November 16- March, at all Naughton's Plumbing, Heating & Cooling stores, donations of blankets and coats are accepted to help the needy and homeless.
Summer Chill-Out Drive: During the hottest months of summer, Naughtons accepts donations of water, sunscreen, hats and sunglasses that are distributed to by The Hospitality House for the homeless on the street.

Beginning in May 2010 Walgreens' city-wide store locations hosted a water & food donation drive to benefit The Salvation Army & Operation Chill-Out.
Customers are encouraged to purchase specially marked and discounted items at Walgreens' stores who will then donate them to The Salvation Army!
