The Salvation Army Desperately Needs Hams, Eggs and Pastries To Feed Hundreds for Sunday’s Easter Breakfast
Tucson- The Salvation Army is making an urgent public appeal for donations of pre-cooked, spiral, boneless hams, eggs and assorted pastries for this year’s 2nd Community Easter Breakfast, Sunday, April 24 at 1021 N. 11th St. (Hospitality House West Lot).
With donations nearly non-existent and only 4 days till breakfast preparations begin, The Salvation Army is desperately seeking 100 pre-cooked spiral hams 600 asst. pastries and rolls for their Community Easter breakfast.
This year’s Easter event, is planning to serve over 500 people and include a full breakfast buffet, with scrambled eggs, ham, pancakes, hash brown potatoes, assorted pastries and refreshments served from 9am –11:30am. Easter Baskets provided by Walgreen’s will also be given away to children.
“The numbers of hungry people in-need are a harsh reality. Easter is a perfect time to come together and help others less fortunate.” says Salvation Army Public Relations Director, Tamara McElwee. “The Easter breakfast is a warm, healthy meal that serves, homeless, in-need people on this special day. The food donors and volunteers help make it all happen!”
The Salvation Army’s Free Community Easter Breakfast Celebration will be held Easter Sunday, April 4 from 9am to 111:30am on the Hospitality House’s west lot (1021 N. 11th Ave.)
