Here in Tucson, we are known for our very hot summers. Most people are able to escape the scorching temperatures by going into air conditioned buildings and vehicles. But for some people, this is simply not an option.
During the summer months, homeless people in the area are extremely vulnerable to the heat. Each year, there are reports of individuals who perish due to lack of hydration and sufficient protection from the sun. That's why The Salvation Army, with Naughton's & Walgreen's stores has sprung into action.
Throughout the summer The Salvation Army, Naughton's Plumbing, Heating & Cooling and Walgreens stores will be helping collect water for the homeless and those in need.
To help us with this "Operation Chill Out" please drop off bottled water , sunscreen, chapstick, hats & sunglasses to any of our locations. Walgreens will also be offering special purchase and collection of these items.
